We don't need to continue to be Isreal's lap dog, ready to do their dirty work every time the mid-east burps. Isreal can take care of their own, and they've proved it time and again.

I have to laugh every time I hear someone call the U.S. "Israel's lap dog". Come on, people, you can't be that short-sighted.
Isreal is a buffer between the radical Middle East and the moderate West, including Europe and the U.S. We help Israel because it suits our goals, not because they are so powerful that they pull the strings in Washington. You really think politicians give a damn about saving Israel at their own expense? They do it because we'd rather see them get it than us. Our relationship with them illustrates a common bond against a common enemy, and really little else.

I like Isreal, and they are our allies, but defending them and their policies at all costs is not key to our national interests.

Islamic nuts want both countries off the map. I suppose we shouldn't have saved England at the expense of hundreds of thousands of American dead either.

Let'em take of themselves, they got the hardware.

They're capable, but can only last so long on their own in a protacted war.

Many of our Arab problems stem from backing Isreal even when they engage in terrorist activities themselves. No reason we should be doing that, not in our security interests.

Israel came into being looooong after the First Crusade. I can't tell you how many times I've spoken with Muslims overseas who still actively talk about the Crusades. Israel is just the lastest thing they've used to justify their "struggle" against the West.

As for Isreal getting nuked? Nope, they'd kill the Palestinians and many other Arabs too, notgonna happen.

I don't think manyradical regimes would think twice of killing the Palestinian beggars if it meant wiping out a large number of the Jews, specifically Zionists. They all think they're going to Heaven anyway, so what's the difference?

Be their friend but let them handle their own issues - we are not Isreal's keeper and never should have been.

I don't think Tel Aviv can handle a world war on their own.
