It sucks that stuff like that happens, but in the confusing environment of the modern battlefield I'm actually surprised that it doesn't happen more often.

Didnt watch the video but I gotta agree with Kevin, theres been people killed by friendly fire in most if not all wars, sad that it happens but sometimes its hard to avoid.

I wouldn't hope for any jailtime for these pilots. At the worst, ground them. The fog of war is ever present in battle, particularly in the first week or two of combat. Their actions may be negligent, but not criminally so.

I wonder if they are still giving pilots amphetamine to fight fatigue. I think that was suggested as a factor several years ago when a couple of Air Force reservists killed some friendly forces.
