Haha... Joe Biden says basically "Obama is the first clean, articulate black man to run for president". And, it gets laughed off by the Reverend Jesse and others.
Quote:
Civil rights leader Jesse Jackson said Wednesday night, "It was a gaffe. It was not an intentional racially pejorative statement. It could be interpreted that way, but that's not what he meant."
What do y'all think the good Reverend would have been saying if it was a Republican who made this little "gaffe"?
and i don't think biden is getting much of a pass on this from the media. i heard it on all the major media outlets repeatedly this morning, and espn radio's talking about it right now.
Like it or not, the U.S. pretty much has (and does) operate according to the rule of hypodescent. He's black.
Kind of a moot point anyway. Unless photos of Hilary Clinton making out with Miss Nevada end up on the front page, she is going to get the nomination. Hell, she'd get it anyway. Everybody else is wasting time unless they are like Obama and are just looking to get some more visibility for use in the future.

I don't think anyone has said the media was giving him a pass. Rev. Jackson did. Obama did. What would Jackson have said if the quote was from Rush Limbaugh? He would have been screaming racism and alleging that Rush had called all blacks a bunch of "Dirty N!%%^@s."

that might be kinda cool. the making out part, that is. of course, i need professional help...
that being said, and with apologies to lee corso, not so fast my friend. there is a huge amount of ambivalence to hillary within the ranks of party operatives. it is only allegiance and loyalty to Bill that has many of these folks considering lukewarm support for her. one mis-step early, and that gives them the excuse for an exodus.
moreover, Gore is still around. his network is back in place, and some interesting calls are being made. if he enters the race, all bets are off.
