I sometimes think how preposterous any attack on the United States would be. I think there are lots of hunters with high power centerfire rifles and plenty of ammunition sitting in the closet that just wouldn't take any attack or invasion sitting down peacefully. Without going into this extensively, it seems this is one of the strengths of the second amendment. When millions of american citizens are armed to the teeth and stocked up on ammunition, how do you overrun the country with a foreign force? It isn't enough to defeat the soldiers and the national guard, then you are faced by the 4 million deer, elk, pronghorn hunters who are distributed all over the place. What about those people who aren't hunters but just like to pop off firearms -- target shooting, plinking? What about those with concealed carry permits? Again, while some view this "armed to the teeth" gun culture in the US as a negative fact, certainly from point of view of someone trying to come in, attack us, and force us into submission . . . it ain't going to be a cake walk. The second amendment is a unique and powerful strength of our government.
Anyway, these guys are pissing into the wind, as far as I'm concerned. If Britain, if Europe generally can't hold their own against this rabble of bullies and misfits, it is because they are effete sissies.
The worst part is, all we can do is sit on the sideline and watch. How do you stop fighting between people whenit has been going onfor thousands and thousands of years.It hurt's me being a human being to see hate and war brought on by religion. I pray to God that He resolve this, because it is an aweful situation.
