My wife and I like to sit back some nights and giggle at all the new drug commercials, especially paying attention at the end when they use a speed talker to read the side affects and warnings.
This new one came up, called Avodart. Being wide eyed at what I'd just heard, I did some net surfing and came up with what Avotar is.
Its for enlarged prostates. It doesn't cure anything - its simply treating a symptom of whatever is causing the enlarged prostate.
[*]improve symptoms [*]reduce the risk of acute urinary retention (a complete blockage of urine flow) [*]reduce the risk of the need for BPH-related surgery
Okay, now for the good stuff.
Women should NOT TOUCH this drug. I dont' mean ingest it, I mean ANY CONTACT with it is bad news. It'll cause birth defects in male babies (unborn babies)
Men taking Avodart should not donate blood until at least 6 months after their last dose to prevent pregnant women from receiving Avodart through a blood donation.
The most common side effects are:
[ul][*]impotence (trouble getting or keeping an erection)[*]a decrease in libido (sex drive)[*]breast enlargement and tenderness (gynecomastia) [*]a decrease in the amount of semen released during sex[/ul]
So ........ you take Avodart, to treat the symptom of whatever it is thats causing your enlarged prostrate, and in the process your boobs get bigger, you lose your sex drive and its stuff that'll cause birth defects ?
