N.H. tax evader prepares for raid, but marshals bide their time

CONCORD, N.H. - A former militia man convicted of tax evasion prepared for a government siege Friday as his supporters called for more people to show up at his fortress-like home and fight his arrest.




Ed Brown said he was ready for a swarm of federal agents to descend on his property to execute an arrest warrant. His wife and his supporters said they believe a confrontation could turn violent.




U.S. marshals said they have no plans to attack Ed Brown"™s home in Plainfield or act quickly on a warrant for his arrest.





But Brown said he is prepared for a swarm of federal agents to descend on his property, while some supporters said government aggression could lead to another Waco, Ruby Ridge, or Oklahoma City bombing.

Some of these folks don't want to pay taxes or be part of the nation. But, they sure avail themselves of public services.

I listened to an interview yesterday in the radio. This guy is for real and doesn't consider himself a subject of the United States. He owes his allegiance to the State of New Hampshire...you know the live free or die state. I bet the Feds don't rush his compound all that soon.

They will prove little or nothing.

I agree with promoting tax reform. I don't agree with taking up arms and denying legal processes and the authorities associated with them.

If everyone followed suit, chaos would be the only result.

I sympathize with the guy, but he's doing little more than attracting nationwide mockery. I'll bet he's really not going to enjoy prison. Poor, dumb nutjob...

Like Aught Six, I agree that some serious changes need to be made. But Mr. Militia is going about it all the wrong way.

It's too bad that nothing will change after this whole thing. Socialism continues....

2. Did anybody actually read the whole story? We are talking about very wealthy people here. Most of the time this type of thing is associated with lower-middle income folks, but she was making over $250K per year.
