Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Support our Troops?

I here so many people say (general public)I am in support of our troops. What does that mean? Are youin support of what they believe in or because they are theFighting Men and Womenthat are protecting you or what? I don't understand how you support somebody if you tell them what he or she believe's in iswrongand what you say is right. If so many of the GI's say finish what westarted, these people needed us then and need us now,why would you take them away from what they believeis right...........I am an AmericanG.I. I support them forwhat they do...risk their life day in and day outforothers to able to place blame and distrust anywherethey see fit. If the G.I. says he believe's inwhat he is doingI'm in there with him all the way to the END. Damn the torpedos.
HIGH FLYIN DONT MIND DYIN........FROM THE GATES OF HELL OR THE CLOUDS OF HEAVEN I WILL COME FOR MY FELLOW GI!!

Good start. Now we have an army of those willing to die for others.

Is that all there is to it? Does that mean that no one is entitled to question why those lives are spent, why their blood should be spilled on foreign soil? Especially those among our numbers who've also served?

Are you truly that simple-minded?

I may be just that simple minded. But I would still go to foriegn soil, water or airand fight than to go into Chicago, LA orNYand have it out there. Is that what it would take again for some people to realize that if we dont take it to them there they will bring it here, again and again. All that just to have our fighting men and women onour coast and borders just waiting for something or someoneto blow up something else. If a man believes that its better to fight there than here why not SUPPORT his or her belief. To me thats support. If a pack of wild dogs came to you farm our yard and killed allyour animals. Would you hunt the pack or just the leader? If the pack divides and gathers others would you just hunt the orginal pack? Or would you sit at home on the porchin arocking chair waiting for another pack to come.

It's not really worth arguing with civilians about supporting the troops, they'll never know what it's like and they'll never understand that it's not about some guy in an oval shaped office, it's about the guy to your left and right.

I am a civilian, and I do understand somewhat. I know my mother said that my father's biggest obsticle in vietnam was the crap going on at home. He died over there. But I believe he felt that if the simple folks at home had support for them and what they were doing, it would have made all the difference in the world.

Thanks guys for serving.

"I don't understand how you support somebody if you tell them what he or she believe's in iswrongand what you say is right."

i have never said that what the troops are doing is wrong:Quite the contrary, the troops are doing everything right and i supportall of you to the hilt.i personally know a few dozen troops who are currently serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. My bother was the first GI from Randolph county, WV to die in Viet Nam. i spent a career in the US Army (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) and amseverely disabled due to my service.

I do disagree very strongly with the decision to invade Iraq that was made by US politicians.

Thank you for your service to this country. May God bless you and yours.
