I don't really think its that harsh a sentence for the crime. But, considering that so many people are unfaithful, is it too much to enforce this law to its literal extent?

yeah, i think it is too much.if enforced, we have yet another example of nanny government telling us how to live our lives.

On the other hand, they'd be enforcing legal contracts that they have authority to sanction in the first place.

It's none of the goobermint's business if I cheat on my wife, besides, she'd kill me in my sleep anyway...

Regulating morality has always been a historic failure, it hasn't stopped drug use or perversion, so what makes the Legislature think that they can tell people to stop screwing their neighbor's wife and expect compliance? Just the enforcement issues are staggering to contemplate.

There are more pressing issues that need to be taken care of than worring who's banging who. Feed the children, stop gang wars, fix your healthcare. Build a damn road somewhere.
