Iranian companies begin housing project in Venezuela
TEHRAN, Jan. 14 (MNA) -- Iranian companies have started the construction work aimed at building of 10,000 housing units in Venezuela.
Based on earlier agreements, the development plan for a 10,000-unit housing project in Venezuela has already been assumed and construction of another 30,000 units is to begin soon, a board member of Iranian mass housing company said.
In its bid to carry out housing projects in Venezuela, Iran"™s Ministry of Housing and Urban Development is establishing a joint venture consortium to implement the next projects, Mojtaba Bigdeli noted on Sunday.
Referring to the good economic and political relations between Iran and Venezuela, he expressed hope that the cooperation would pave the ground for further development of ties and exports of technical and engineering services to the Latin American nation.
During the visit of Venezuela President Hugo Chavez to Iran last August, officials of the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) based on which the two countries would set up joint housing companies.
