Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Unfortunately, thanks to the abysmally low level of scientific literacy in this country they will probably do very well despite the absurd premise of this so called museum.

Actually, I think they got the idea for this "museum" from watching "The Flintsones" cartoons.

Why is it a joke ? Why is it an absurd premise ?

Fact is, dinosaurs are walking this earth right now, as we speak. To say dinosaurs didn't walk the same earth with people a few thousands years ago ? I think its fact they did.

Thank you Buster T for confirming my earlier post about the state of scientific literacy in this country.

Belief is more important than fact. That's just how the human brain tends to be wired, and probably due to natural selection. So be it.

Californiadoctor - I submit that most everything you think you know is mostly theory, not factual. You might giggle to yourself on what you think others don't know, but the truth is, what you base your belief in is every bit as much faith as Christianity is.

I could list many things that confirm how wrong science is - its a faith that has a loophole in that you can redefine what it is you believe in at anytime. Thats called theory and hypothesis when its all boiled down.

I remember being taught in school the big bang theory - no longer accepted. I remember being told Pluto was a planet - it no longer is. I remember being told certain fish fossils were billions of years old from fish extinct for that long . and then people catching thos fish in the ocean very much alive. I remember being taught that the Bronze Age ended at XXXXX BC, and then science finding bronze weapons on skeletons from 1,000 years earlier than they should have been ........ ooooooooops. I know that in Texas there are footprints of people embedded in the footprints of dinosaurs.

And on and on. Science is guesswork, and a belief in that guesswork that most often gets overwritten by new guesswork and belief.

Funny how that works.

Christianity doesn't change. Its steadfast, solid and unchanging. Its a belief, and a faith, just like Science is.

What are you a Doctor in Californiadoctor????

If you're referring to birds and a few select reptiles I would tend to agree with your opening remark, but to suggest that hominids coexisted with the inhabitants of Jurassic Park just isn't supported by any type of physical evidence. Even the earliest hominids can't be proven to have existed much further back than 5M years, nearly 60M years after the extinction of the dinos other than the aforementioned. Wishful thinking in an attempt to skirt a lack of factual evidence is still just wishful thinking.

Science is dependent on logic. It can be rock solid with enough understanding and some careful thought. Religion is often supported by logic, but in vague or abstract ways. I've even read about game theory being applied to the probability of God.

It's all about what you want to believe, but neither is superior with regard to spirituality. Each has something to offer, but not everything.
