LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Three men who claim childhood sexual abuse by priests can pursue damages from the Vatican in a negligence lawsuit, a federal judge ruled Thursday.
The ruling by U.S. District Judge John G. Heyburn II lets the men pursue their claim that top church officials should have warned the public or local authorities of known or suspected sexual abuse of children by priests in the Archdiocese of Louisville.
William McMurry, the plaintiffs"™ attorney, said the ruling could open the way to take depositions of Vatican officials and to get copies of church records and documents.

I hope they win , but the church has so much money the award will be like pennies to them , and they still won't fix what's wrong regardless . At best they'll do what they always have , cover up any future "indiscretions" and hope nobody finds out . If there's a bigger bunch of hypocrites than the men who run the Roman Catholic church than I surely haven't encountered them .

Considering the vast number of heinous sins of their own that they've concealed over the centuries while burning others at the stake(literally in some cases) I can't honestly say that their demise would cause me to lose sleep . My Mom is devoutly Catholic and to this day still refuses to believe that priests would rape young boys or be actively gay . She's not even in the minority there among the Catholics I know , talk about having your head up your ...er... in the sand . That's one organization that either desparately needs to police itself or just become extinct . They're mired in 11th century thinking and likely to remain so .

Think the millions come in when they find out the church knew did nothing hid a felony and moved the pedophile with no warning to his next victims. Seem like they should be able to arrest a bunch of them on A RICO charge.

It wasn't the perverted priests that moved them to different parishes when they knew they would abuse more kids. No that was the Cardinals(lay), Bishops,they even had meeting about it at the Vatican.

The church doesn't have anything to do with your soul does it? That depends soley upon you,right?
