RE: Parents, how would you feel if our kid was stranded at school because the speak English
When I first heard this story I about went nuts, and it's still pretty stupid, but I saw an interview on FOX news yesterday and evidently the reason that was the only bus that went by their route is because they had moved outside of the bussing zone for their school and I assume were supposed to be going to another school instead. It just so happened that the "special programs" school was in the same elementary that they originally went to.
That being said, why the heck we have a school for people who don't speek english is beyond me. It seems to me that being around the other students would greatly increase their ability to speak english. Another thing that amazes me, I have quite a few friends that majored in spanish in college, and they were all required to go to South America or Spain to study for a semester (4 months). All of them came back after those 4 months being able to speak fairly fluent spanish, yet these people who have been in the United States for a couple years can't manage to do that. Terrible
