Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Keep them coming... Halfwits abound who seem to think that pomeranians can and will do the same thing...

I have no use for mean dogs.
IMHO Any dog that is a threat to humans should be put down.

I have had no encounters with mean dogs that I can recall.

My wife was cornered by two pits running one day. She knows dogs, and dog behavior and she was screaming at them, didn't run, stood her ground, had a big stick ......... she did everything right. This was on the other side of the road from the trailer they came from, and when they'd retreat a few steps she'd try to take a few steps away and here they'd come back at her. She was hysterically crying when she got home,45 minutes after the encounter, trembling etc.

Those dogs were in kill mode. A small kid running away from them etc would likely have ended in a seriously wounded or dead kid. I called the cops and they said for us to use deadly force ANYTIME we felt our lives in danger. We went back to where they were, I had my gun, and they were in the trailer, locked up. Lucky dogs that day.

I have seen thousands of Pit Bulls.
I have had many simpleshort term friendships with hundreds of Pit Bulls.
There are perhaps Billionsof Pit Bulls.
"You can't judge a book by it's cover."

I haveseen Coyote killwaymore dogs, chickens, hogs, calves, etc...

The Celts, which were an extremely old race used two dogs...

The "Powerful" which is now known as the Mastiff.
They kept this dog inside their homes. The "Powerful" would greet their visitors at a sword swing away from the Owner.
If visitor is friendly the Mastiff would take his leave to the center off the floor.
AND
The "Terrier" which is now known as the Pit Bull.
They kept these dogs outside to protect their "LIVESTOCK" and also to be "FRIENDLY" with all people that came to their homestead. The "terrier" also kept the immediate area clear of pests. They were also bred to stay close to the home otherwise.

If a dog has a bad owner then the dog will be bad.
Pedigree does not determine this.

I also want to say that the "MEANEST" dog I have "EVER" seen that wasNOTWILD was a German ShepardxBlackmouth Cur but he was trained to be mean by his owner.

Ill add to this conversation;

Ive owned several pits. One as a pet (when I was single, liveing in the country, and it was a house dog), the otherswere Hog dogs. I never once had a problem with my pits. Reason being is I know what they are capable of doing and never allowed them to roam wild or put them in a situation to where they were ever around kids or other people. The problem we have with Pits, and breeds like Pits is; A large part of the owners like to make them aggressive so the trailer park thinks they are cool. These peoplelack the metality to understand what the dogs are capable, and allow them to roam, or allow them to play with other people. Pits are not family dogs, Pits are only loyal to one owner, and Pits are not cool, tough dogs that make you a man by owning.

On the positve note, they are one hell of a hog dog. Back when we hunted hogs with dogs, therewas no otherdog that can compare to a pit when it comes to catching.

Oh, and for those who think cute little dogs are not capable of harming a person. You might remember a post of mine a few months back where my grandmother was attacked by a toy, rat terrier. The dog caused her to fall, which could have done more than just break her ankle. She was lucky, and was able to get the shot gun to put the little ankle biter down before she broke another bone.

I think everyone understands that all dogs are capable of inflicting some damage. But, if your grandmother had been attacked by a pit rather than a "little ankle biter", shewould have been lunch...
