US launches fresh air strike

The latest attack followed mounting international criticism of a US strike in the area on Monday which Somali officials said had killed many people.
The attack on a south Somali village by an AC-130 plane firing automatic cannon was believed to have killed one of three al-Qaeda suspects wanted by Washington for twin bombings on US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998, a US intelligence official said.

Good! I seem to remember Bush saying something shortly after 9/11 about how the U.S. would make no distinction between terrorists and the countries who harbor them.

If innocents are being killed, that's unfortunate, but it wouldn't happen if their government did not harbor terrorists. Simply bombarding them with air strikes is a lot safer for us than sending ground operatives in to take them into custody. The images are still too fresh in my mind of what happened the last time those barbarians there got ahold of some of our troops. [:@]
