Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Parents sentenced why am I not surprised.

BENTON, La."”The parents of an infant whose toes were gnawed off by a family pet pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of child desertion.
Mary and Christopher Hansche also agreed to sign over their pets "” a pit bull puppy and a ferret "” to Bossier City for adoption. It hasn't been determined which pet bit the baby's toes off.
Judge John Robinson sentenced the couple to six months in jail, which was suspended to 48 days. The Hansches, who were jailed Dec. 11, were expected to be released as early as Wednesday night for good behavior, officials said.
"It was a horrible accident. I'm sorry it happened," the judge said. "I believe the plea agreement is appropriate. Your punishment will be ongoing every time you look at your baby's feet."
The Hansches were charged after they awoke Dec. 10 and discovered that three of their daughter's toes were gnawed off. Doctors were forced to remove another toe.
The child was placed into a grandparent's care. A juvenile court will determine final custody, authorities said.
Robinson also ordered the couple to complete a parenting class, pay a $100 fine and court fees, and undergo 60 days of probation.

I think there is more to it that what we are seeing.

Original reports best I remember was they were in the floor asleep and the baby next to them in a car seat asleep and they never woke up ? First the puppy did it, then the ferret did it .......... I remember when our kids were babies we woke up to EVERYTHING ....... I can't imagine sleeping through the screams of a little baby as its toes were being chewed off

Good grief, they had two of the worst pets to have around kids. Ferrets will kill an infant in a second.

I agree with you Buster, these parents had to be loaded. I woke with the littlest sound when my kids were babies. I still wake at the littlest sound and my kids are now 8 and 10. I guess Ill do it till the day they move out.

i agree, those parents HAD to have been loaded big time. I still wake up when my 11 year old nephew gets up and is making sounds. Im betting more on the ferret, baby toes are tiny, ferret mouth is tiny. I think someone said the "pitbull" was 6 weeks old? Compair the mouths on the two. If they cant figure out which one did it, they gotta be pretty damn stupid. The teeth marks in bone/flesh will tell all. A dog isnt going to go for toes, they have big mouths even when they are tiny and that foot would have had bite marks all over it. Very very poor investigation by the police. Either way, the parents got what they deserve. Now if only we could lock up murdered and rapists with such little evidence.
