RE: Barack Obama quote
He doesn't impress me and besides he admitted he did hard drugs in the past. He is the best they can do? Oh I forgot we have Hillary out there too. Still not impressed but lots of time left before the big match.

If he thinks being a Christian means that maybe he should be open to supporting gay marriage, then the only thing that's misguided is his understanding of the Bible.
It will be interesting to see if Obama can capitalize on his fame with substance. If he can, then we may have a very interesting run on the dem. side for president in '08.
Relative to this guy's prospects for 2008 presidential race, I agree, I am not impressed. This does not mean that the guy can't win. I have been shocked by the political dumb headedness of the Republican party in the past. It depends upon who the Republicans run and what kind of race he/she runs. Somehow George Bush senior ran a stupic campaign in 1992, letting Clinton win. Yes, I know, Ross Perot split the vote and without Perot, Bush would have won. Even so, I recall that Bush played a very passive campaign, resting on his laurels, depending upon his encumbency to carry the day. It reminds me of a football team with the lead in a football game with 3 minutes remaining playing a "prevent" defense, letting small gains be made but preventing the deep play. Sometimes this "prevent defense" leads to a quick series of plays marching down the field followed by a touchdown. This is especially irritating when the team got into its leading position by playing aggressive defense earlier in the day. Anyway, this is all by way of saying it depends not only on who the Democrats run, but how the Republicans play their campaign.

I kinda take him as another Howdy Duddy, flash in the pan candidate. He does not have enough experience to really be legit. He reminds me of old goofy funny that ran last year that got beat out by Kerry, ,,,,,,, Now what was his name,,,,,, emmmmm,,,,,,,, I just cant remember.

I'd say the real reason that he wants to "remain open" to the, uh, possibility, has nothing to do with his obligation as an elected official or a Christian and everything to do with whether supporting it or condemning it would be more helpful to a potential run for the presidency.
