Get you a map of Texas, find the area in North west Texas that has nothing but tinny little towns. All about 50 miles apart. Thats where I live. Resume speed Texas. Once you pass our blinking light, you can resume speed.
Wait, I just discribed about 80% of Texas, never mind.

Bernie have you ever been to Broom Texas. Population 12?
Its on the road from Midland to San Angelo.
You bet. I grew up in Lubbock and spent lots of time in Midland, Odessa, San Angelo (especially at Nasty water aka Lake Naswerthy), Lamesa, and all inbetween. Use to Chase deer and antelope at Gail. If you have ever been to Broom, you have to have heard of Tarzan Texas. Another one of our great little places.

When I lived in Odessa there were twenty miles of desert between Odessa & Midland. My boss had a house at nasty water, the bass fishing was great but to many snakes for my liking.
The last thing they said when I left was that "I'd be back" From best of my recollection I didn't forget anything of mine there so I never found the need to go back.I still talk on the phone to a couple of friends & even have had asome beers with a couple of them on business trips.

Yep, Lonestar ranks up there with the beast or shaffer. Why do you think they use to give it away at the Buck Horn Hall of fame. As for where you were; You were in the anus of Texas. Ill put it this way, if God was going to give Texas an enima, he would insert it right between Odessa and Midland. The two ugliest towns in Texas. Head south and east and it gets much nicer.

I'm 30 miles from Lake Erie, right now it is some of the best steel head fishing in the world. Deer season finished last Saturday & tomorrow is looking to be a great day of grouse hunting.
P.S. You are right about Odessa ,its hard to believe that the Mexicans would even fight for the place.
