The 700-mile border fence Congress approved for construction in a session-ending deal was little more than a fast act of political cosmetics in an election year and may never come to fruition, say immigration advocates looking ahead to the Democratic-led 110th Congress.

I can see this being a major pissing away of money. Look at the miles of tunnels that already exist. Wont be a problem to tunnel under this fence. This will stop the individual from walking across, but thats not the big problem (or at least as I see it). Its the coyotes that are the big problem. I can also see how this will screw up some animals ability to get to the river for water.
