Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Politics 101

I'm now 4 for 4 on local campaigns in my county for the past year. A lot of work but satisfying to help change things locally. I know Boysda was also working a state level campaign I believe. How'd you do on your campaign? Did anybody else work on campaigns this November and how'd you do?

Cal, have you managed to get a Bigfoot hunting season passed out there in California yet? I would assume that's one of your top political priorities.

Right now I'm steamed up about how they jacked up the price of pig tags. We used to get a book of 5 for under $8. Now they're charging us $16 for just 1 tag. [:@]

You know Cal, on the surface that pricing sounds trivial but then you start thinking about it and it annoys you.

Ohio raised the prices on certain tags by 20% and the cost of overnight camping by 50%.

By the way, I saw you on the Terminator II last night. Good flick.

I think everybody understands some price increases but a CA pig tag has increased in price approximately 9 fold in the last 5-6 years. That's ridiculous. Very few people actually used anywhere near the 5 pig tags you got in a book for $7.80 a few years back but now we're paying $16.80 a piece. I got lucky on a guided pig hunt yesterday and have the happy chore of mailing in the tag to DFG.

I'm glad you won Boysda. It does make all of the effort seem a little more worthwhile. I'm now 8-2 lifetime.

Piggies are considered vermin in Indiana , you can shoot them with any weapon you want all year round . I think all you need is our basic hunting license , that's about $14.75 for a resident . Soooooeeeeeee !!! [8D]

You have to tag a hog. Wow. Here in texas they will almost pay you to get rid of them. They are one of our biggest vermin.

MI also thought it was a great idea to raise certain tags. A few years ago I could get a doe tag for $3. Last year they were $7. This year they are $10. Really not a big deal or a lot of money, but when will it stop, at $100, $1,000?

A buddy of mine shot two sows this weekend, near Fredericksburg, TX. When we went to load them in the truck, there were a couple of piglets trying to nurse on one of the sows. I think there were as many pigs killed this weekend as there were deer.
