Default My brother messed up(Friends, this post was a hoax.)

So he was on private property (with permission) bow hunting. He stuck a nice, big-bodied 8 point, nice spread and mass. It lays down not to far away in a field. Before he can get to it, some guys stop their truck, and go out and try to snatch the deer. He stops them, tells them they're on private property, etc...

One guy pulls out a revolver and says, we're taking the deer, and your stuff too. They get his wallet, bow, arrows, some other stuff, and the deer.

He was really shaken up being held at gun-point. They had him lie down as they loaded up and took off. He doesn't have a liscence plate to report.

One thing he said to me was, "I should have just stayed home. I never should have gone out in the first place." In other words, he feels it was his mistake. And to an extent, he's right. If he hadn't gone out tonight, this would never have happened. Right?

Negative. Would it have happened had he stayed home? Obviously not. Then again, who is to say that by being in the field he avoided being inside his house when it blew up because he messed up and turned on the gas stove but failed to notice it didn't light?

It might not have happened to him but it coulda very well been someone else they robbed and could have even had a worse outcome for them.Your brother did nothing wrong.

So he should just stay home for the rest of his life ? Wrong . Tell him to get a concealed carry permit and shoot those pricks if it happens again .

I am glad i live in Maine with stories like these around. No your brother did not mess up at all. He is still alive and well isn't he? Shook up? Who wouldn't be! I hope he got the plate number of that truck and turned them in. I wouldn't stop hunting and enjoying what I like to do because of a few thugs.

Sorry i didn't notice this part in time. However he must of had some idea on what the truck and those guys looked like.
Did he report this to anyone?

Now, now, eto. They just "presented" him with a view of the gun. To say they "held him at gunpoint" is to infer they were confronting him, and of course, that could be taken the wrong way. So you meant they presented him with the opportunity of viewing the gun.

So, you disagree with the others? No opinion, no advice? Is it that you just don't like me now? BTW, one of the definitions of 'presented' means to give as a gift. Since it's a definition that in no way fits the context of the situation, I can only assume that is the one you are using, so I should probably point out that they didn't give him the gun. They pointed it at him and threatened to shoot.

That sucks, Eto.

No, he wasn't doing the wrong thing and it wasn't his fault, obviously. Theworld is full of a-holes that get away with crap like that.
