Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default First official candidate for president

The dust hasn't even settled from the midterm elections... But Vilsack might be an alternative to Hilary. You can't be the gov of Iowa and be too far to the left. Somebodythat appeals to moderates and independents?

Vilsack Will Run for President
Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack (D) plans to formally launch his bid for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination today, the Des Moines Register reports.

"Vilsack, who leaves office in January, will file papers today to establish his presidential campaign committee, aides said. The step marks the first official move by any politician among the large field of Democrats and Republicans weighing campaigns for president."

Key point: "The move signals to Iowa Democrats, on whom his bid will depend, and national donors that Vilsack, one of the least-known among his party's presidential prospects, is committed to running for president

How can an Iowa Democrat get an F rating from NRA? Why would he want to stop mourning dove hunting?

I wouldnt vote for that jerk off for anything. He single handedly vetoed the dove hunting bill after it had passed. He tried to claim it was what the people of Iowa wanted but IMHO he caved in to outside special interest groups.I know for a fact there were any sportsen that contacted him supporting the bill and any local hunting groups.

Again IMHO he caved in later to the insurance industry and legalized a massive slaughter of deer in the state. There were overpopulated areas its true but many areas where hundreds of doe tags were given out every year have seen thier deep populations decimated terribly. It was only this year they finally cut back on doe tags in some areas after the local DNr went public about the population decline in this area.Theyve also passed the bill onto sportsmen to cover the expenses of disposing of this many extra deer weather you contribute one to the program or not.The insurance industry refused to contribute so we got stuck with the tab despite the fact that thier whining was what started the problem.

For you out of state hunters I believe he was also in office when the state decided to start raping you for deer licenses and jacked the price up to 350$ a head.Dont know how much he had to do with that but Im sure it needed his approval.I really dont like the guy, like i said, these are all just opinions so take em for what their worth

I really can't see anyone on either side at this time that I would drive to the polls to vote for.

Right now it seems that Romney of MA is the most conservative of the contenders out there. Guliani & McCain both have some baggage with the conservative bast that will be hard to overcome. McCain's "gang of 14" was not a good move,& he & Guliani both are very weak on second amendment issues.
