Default Another Walmart Gripe post - What's wrong with being gay?

Quote:
In a show of support to help homosexuals legalize same-sex marriage, Wal-Mart has agreed to automatically donate 5% of online sales directly to the Washington DC Community Center for Gay, Lesbian Bisexual and Transgender People. The cash donation will come from online purchases made at Wal-Mart through the homosexual group's Web site. This move follows Wal-Mart's joining the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and agreeing to give generous financial help to that organization also.

Every purchase made online for books, music, videos, clothing and accessories, children's clothing and toys, and electronics at the site will automatically send 5% of the sales to the CCBLBT People. The agreement is an indication that Wal-Mart is totally committed to supporting the homosexual movement.

Wal-Mart also gave a generous cash donation to the Northwest Arkansas Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Community Center, helping to provide a place where homosexuals can come together to "socialize."

Wonderful, eh? I've shopped at Commie-Mart twice in the past few years - twice too many as far as I'm concerned.

So, why does anyone care if someone else is gay? I don't have any gay tendencies, but I also don't harbor any hatred or even concern about gay people. Basically, they can do whatever they want, as far as I'm concerned because it doesn't affect me one single bit.

Clearly not everyone in America thinks that way, so why not? What does everyone have against gay people? Are you afraid they will try to convert you or what?

They sell crap for a low price. I never shop there if I can help it. Ironic that they are so benevolent towards gays and lesbians but treat their workers like excrement.

Lets see what else the evil bastards have been up to.

In 2005, more than 4,000 teachers and schools were honored through the Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year Program. In excess of $4 million was given to schools and children"™s programs in our communities. Recognized as the largest teacher recognition program in the U.S., more than 25,000 teachers have been honored nationwide since the inception of the program in 1995. This year Wal-Mart will contribute more than $45 million in support of educational initiatives

In August 2006 through a nearly $1.5 million donation, Wal-Mart and SAM"™s Club Foundation partnered with Sesame Workshop to produce Talk, Listen, Connect a military outreach project. The nearly 400, 000 kits are bilingual and contain a DVD and online print materials to help children adjust to the three stages of deployment and various stresses of military life. The kits are distributed for free and available at

Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation
In 2004, the Wal-Mart and SAM's Club Foundation presented a $1 million matching gift to the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Foundation to support its efforts to assist members of America's military, veterans, and their families.
Paralyzed Veterans of America
We were fortunate to begin a partnership with PVA in 2004. Since that time we have contributed financial support to their Outdoor Recreational Heritage Fund. The fund is designated to facilitate accessible traditional outdoor recreation for paralyzed veterans, their families and others with disabilities. In 2005, $50,000 was donated to benefit the 2006 National Veterans Wheelchair Games and PVA"™s National Trapshoot Circuit. From 2004-2006 Wal-Mart will award the PVA with grants totaling $250,000.
Water Donations
We are responding to the needs of our military men and women by donating truckloads of bottled water. This year, we have sent more than 68 truckloads of water to military bases around the country to support troops being deployed, those returning home, and our wounded.
Communication Assistance
In 2005, we helped military members better connect with family members back home through a gift of 5,100 pre-paid telephone calling card worth more than $125,000.
Support of Our Associates
Wal-Mart is a loyal supporter of men and women in the armed forces, especially our associates who perform military service. We proudly continue many benefits, including health benefits, during an associate's military leave. We also offer supplemental pay for the duration of military leave to associates called to active duty in an area that is subject to "hostile fire" or "imminent danger," as defined by the Presidential Executive Order. Through a program known as Letters from Home, our associates are able to identify fellow associates that are serving in the military and communicate with them via letters and emails
