Here is another storyabout a new investigation into Pat Tillman's death.
I don't get the media frenzy involving this case. Tillman was killed by friendlyfire, something that is a simple fact of war.And unless you can prove a friendly fire incident was actually premeditated murder or over the top blatant recklessness, I don't think soldiers should ever be prosecuted forit.
BAsically it looks like there are four Army Rangers that are going to wind up getting railroaded over this and the primary reason seems to be that Tillman was famous. Which is patentely ridiculous - Tillman's death was no more or less important than the death of the 19 year old private from Swampscott, MA last month, but I doubt anyone will throw up athree year investigation over his death.
Granted, the military wasn't particularly forthcoming about the circumstances surrounding Tillman's death, but giventhe reactionwhen the news got out that he died from friendly fire, I'd say they were spot on in their prediction of what kind of reaction they would get.
