OK so now what. It looks like the balance of power has changed. My prediction will be that Rummy will be gone shortly as a desperate measure by W and "the party" to placate the dissatisfied public. 2008 is closer than ever and now that the worst scenario, from a GOP perspective, has occurred the red party needs to conduct some damage control and get ready for the next fight. Without an end to the war there will be aDem president in office next term. In order to gain political momentum the GOP needs to accomplish this sometime during 2007 or at worst early 2008. Time is running short and getting Rumsfeld out of the office will be the first step with a firm timeframe for a power transfer from us to Iraq next. The loss of power after all this time and the war in Iraq will be the anchor that hangs over Bush's presidency. The people have spoken and change is demanded. Today"™s news conference from the White House should prove interesting.

Big mystery to W thatthe GOPlost???? He was a liability to all Republicans involved in a close race. His steadfast stance on keeping Rummy and staying the course in Iraq cost his party dearly. He should have listened to all his military people and reacted to a known problem.George Bushowns this and it will be his legacy.
