Do not drag us through another drawn-out legal mess in Virginia. We saw this precident set by Democrats in 2000 and 2004. Rise above that, concede Virginia and the Senate to the Democrats, and let's move on. [:@]

I'm not sure what you are referring to. As I understand it lawyers representing both Republicans and Democrats are meeting to count absentee ballots. The senate race in Virginia hinges on a few thousand votes -- maybe 5,000 -- and in such a close race the absentee ballots, yet uncounted, can swing the election. All they are doing is counting the absentee ballots. If you have a race with one candidate leading by 20,000 votes and you have 5,000 uncounted absentee ballots . .. no need to count the absentee ballots, game over. But when you have more absentee ballots, uncounted, than the lead of one of the candidates you need to count the absentee ballots.
I don't think anyone is calling for a recount. Don't jump the gun on this.
I have absolutely no problem with anyone requesting a recount - in fact, in a state that size if it comes down to a 10,000vote or smaller margin, I think they owe it to the people to do a recount (and, in VA, state law requires a recount for anything closer than 5000).
Why in the world would anyone concede an election before the votes have been properly counted? Why is it shameful to actually attempt to determine, you know, what the will of the people was?

Really? In a race that saw almost two and a half million votes, you think a 7000 vote difference is a wide enough gap to simply not bother with a recount? That's around .3% of the voters - I hardly see that race as decided.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the racist, crazy Allen to drop out of the race right now, but to me, when 2.5 million people vote, I think they have a right to be sure the race is called the way they decided it, not the way it was most expedient to be decided.

And we're off to a good start. Coming from a Teddy Kennedy robot. Webb has a pretty good record of racism himself. He'll fit in well with former Klansman and high ranking Democrat Robert Byrd.
