Article being carried by CNN right now, apparently will be an editorial in the Sunday Army Times. Well, I will be glad when the elections are over as all the "supreezes" should be rung out by then. Looks like Gannet owns the Army Times. Nothing would surprise me from Gannet, although I was a bit surprised by the Army Times carrying the article.

"Tucson sweet. Best chili in the Saguaro."
"This is not about the midterm elections," continued the editorial, which will appear in the Army Times, Air Force Times, Navy Times, and Marine Corps Times on Monday. "Regardless of which party wins Nov. 7, the time has come, Mr. President, to face the hard bruising truth: Donald Rumsfeld must go."
Heres my favorite part, I cant believe these are military articals
Quote:
The military publications' editorial also painted a grim view of the situation in Iraq, saying, "despite the best efforts of American trainers, the problem of molding a viciously sectarian population into anything resembling a force for national unity has become a losing proposition. For two years, American sergeants, captains and majors training the Iraqis have told their bosses that Iraqi troops have no sense of national identity, are only in it for the money, don't show up for duty and cannot sustain themselves. "¦ And all along, Rumsfeld has assured us that things are well in hand."
Im sure that this is all liberal propaganda, or at least some will try to make that claim
It will be interesting to see what fallout comes from these articles. Although the military papers may not speak for all service personnel, they do speak for quite a few and this should bring this issue into a lot more public discussion.

dudes, it's sour grapes by those in the miltary affected by Rumsfeld's cleaning house and restructuring...Rummy's a hero...the little things they are finding wrong are only a small portion of what would have been found wrong over there if the Rummeister hadn't fixed things...think about it?
Although I am not happy with Rumsfeld's handling of the war in Iraq, I am still infinitely more pissed at his handling of Afghanistan. He ignored every general's advice with the number of troops needed for that operation because he and the White House were already looking to Iraq. He had bin Laden all but captured if he sends enough troops to surround Tora Bora, but instead he sends a few battalions from the 101st and 10th mountain (battalions who took a beating for not having proper support, mind you), so no bin Laden is still at large and Afghanistan is devolving into a state as bad as it was when we got there.
