A major embarrassment not only for the members of his church, but since he's head of a major evangelical association, an embarrassment for Christians as a whole.
Any Christian can do some pretty repulsive things and still be a Christian, obviously (that's why we have the term "backsliding"

) but there's a real problem when you have a person supposedly called of God to spread his message acting in this manner. When a man like this is leading a church, that church has a lot of problems.
But I keep seeing all the news networks talk about how this will impact Tuesday's elections. I can't for the life of me see how this could possibly have any impact whatsoever on Tuesday's elections.
