RE: Why all the hate?
Its simple, they see us as greedy infidels. Add that to Jealousy and misinformation from their Clerics and you have a hatred for America. Repression of rational thought and individuality is the fuel that keeps this going. Or at least thats my $.02

Unintended consequences and God have one thing in common: Liberals don’t believe in either of them.
I believe they see us as greedy as well.
The single most important thing to most people in the middle east is probablyour support of Israel.
They do not care to believe their leaders are misleading them about the U.S.
Same way that Germany could get riled up enough to kill 6 million Jews - a few charismatic hateful leaders.
Think about it - when you meet a German person today, you don't assume that they are anti-Semitic evil bastards that would sooner execute Jews and Gypsies than look at them, but only two generations ago, that was the case in that same country. A few charismatic leaders (because Hitler didn't exist in a vacuum - he had help) were able to give a down trodden country a convenient scapegoat.
Same thing in the Middle East - a few charismatic leaders are blaming the US for all the troubles of the Middle East.
And like Germany, I don't think most of them actually hate the US - I think they are taking a realistic look around them and deciding who is more dangerous to them both right now and ten years from now. Think about it - if you live in Iraq and you have to make a choice about who to cooperate with, the insurgency or the US troops, you have to decide who is still going to be there in 10 years. And right now the smart money says that in 10 years, US troops will be gone and the insurgents will be running the country.
Remember - it's not everyone in the Middle East. Like almost every war, it's a relatively small number of charismatic leaders.
Of course, this isn't to say that these charismatic leaders don't create people who genuinely hate the US - they do. It's never been hard to take weak people and bend them to your will if hate and anger are what you are offering them. There are angry, violent people all over the world - in the Middle East they are being offered an outlet to act violent and evil.

Why do you think those in the Middle East hate us so much? (Al Queda, etc.)
I have "some" ideas, but no real reasons. What are your opinions?
This is meant to be discussed as AMERICANS. Not Rep/Dem, etc., etc. How about a little "unity" among us for a change.
We are two faced and supporting to many of each others enemies over there...We allways got our noses in their bussiness for the $$...And it's not the American people it is the government...
In addition to my post, there is also a healthy dose of what Smokeman said. The American government has some pretty intrusive and bad foreign policies - and this isn't a democrat or republican thing. It's been the same throughout our history.

Does anyone think the level of corruption in our government has anything to do with the mistrust these people give us.
I see an Ohio congress men just quit because of bribes. He was in office for six terms.Wasn't it the republicans who were calling for term limits?
This is a good example of why term limits would be good for this country.
Americans have no faith in our government so why should anyone else?
