Before we vote I'd like to hear both sides of your opinions....
Why should we vote Democratic?
Why should we vote Republican?
This year will be a tuff year for both parties.....What is your take on which way to vote and why? This is in general, not specific to a candidate, more a look at the parties.

I agree with Charlie. Although I'm decidedly conservative, I'll be voting for incumbent Democrats for Congressman and governor because they more closely align with my points of view than their Republican challengers.
On the other hand, in my state's Senate race, where a Democrat and Republican are both running for a vacant seat, neither candidate really espouses the values that I put the most emphasis on. The Republican has ran a hideous and shameful campaign. If there were no extenuating circumstances, I'd probably vote for the Democrat simply on a matter of principle. Yet, I fear what will happen to our gun rights if Democrats regain control of both the House and Senate. Look at what the early '90s brought us. Gun control has sort of become a moot issue over the last few years, but I think folks have forgotten just how quickly our gun rights were eroding before Republicans wrestled control of both chambers away from the Democrats. That isn't to say that all Republicans are pro-gun or all Democrats support gun control, but as a party, I think it's clear with which our 2nd amendment rights are safest. I can't vote Republican because I can't vote for the Republican candidate in good conscience. But I won't vote Democrat for the above reasons.
I struggled with who to vote for in the U.S. House race because if the Democrats regain control, they're going to drag our country through another stupid impeachment process. But I'll have to go with the guy who most closely aligns himself with my beliefs in that one . . .

Charlie & Ben are right, vote for the candidate that most closely matches your views on the issues. This means you will need to know what the issues are & what your beliefs are.

I am basically non partisan and have always voted for the candidate that I thought would do the best job for the people who elected him. This time, however, I will shade towards the Dems simply to bring our government back from the right. I think over time the ebb and flow of power from one side of the isle to the other and back again makes the country better. Too far left and too far right are detriments to the way we run our government and get along with the rest of the world. When there is one of the adjustments to the balance of power we flow more moderate and stay that way until it gets out of balance again. Due primarily to the widely unpopular war in the Middle East and growing government, I suspect that the next 2 years will bringthe Democratic Party into power. I feel the "™08 Democratic Candidate has to be someone who is not one of the widely speculated candidates but rather a good Congressman who has a proven track record without all the usual skeletons in HIS[/b] closet. If they field something along the lines of the fab 9 that graced our media in "™04 they are making a huge mistake. Time to put the best foot forward not the rest of the worst!

I'm gonna conduct a mass write in campaign , my choice for all positions will be completely non-partisan since every one of them will be "None of the above" .

I vote strictly based on gun control. Although those lines are becoming more blurred with every election we see, it is still clear where each party stands on the issue. All the other stuff is lies and hot air anyway.

I usually vote based on the candidates 2A stance first. Second social issues. Third could be a number of things. This is a tough election here in Ohio. I don't like anyone who is running. This place is a waste IMHO.
