Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Raid on Shiite stronghold angers Iraq's PM

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) -- U.S. and Iraqi forces on Wednesday raided Sadr City, stronghold of the Shiite militia led by anti-American cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, but Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki disavowed the operation, saying he had not been consulted and insisting "that it will not be repeated."

Al-Maliki also slammed the top U.S. military and diplomatic representatives in Iraq for their Tuesday press conference, at which they said Iraq needed to set a timetable to curb violence ravaging the country. Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad said al-Maliki had agreed.

Next thing is we will start to fight on a limited basis to not anger anyone. All this reminds me of the Viet Nam conflict when we could only bomb during certain times and with a minimal ordinace load.

The Iraqi leader needs to show he's in control...and this also refers to what Bush meant by saying that the US doesn't have unlimited patience...

it also means that the Iraqi leader ( 5 months on the job ) still has lots of work to do to get the Iraqi armed forces in shape to handle the security ofthe country.

The US moved in on the territory of the Shiitemonkey cleric ( Iraqi leader's buddy )...and nobody phoned him......ya huh...I wonder why?

The leader of Iraq knows what he needs to do and needs time to do it in, he refers to setting timetables and this is probably the basis of the unsettled comments from him.

Iraq needs to worry also about Iran and Syria once the majority of US troops leave...( there should be a US base there forever )

I think it was a good move on the US commanders part. Shake that monkey cleric outta the tree ! send him back to Iran. ( he wears the black turban as the Taliban, same religious extremist followers, as does the weenie cleric in Hezbolanon.)

Iraq and USA don't even compare the two, like apples and oranges...same goes for the leaders, they were following up on cole and such...but the red tape was a mile wide and a billion miles long I'd say...Hence the creation of the department of Homeland security...no?

according to Dubya, the nation of Iraq is sovereign but not quite there with their army...seems to me this was a sensitive operation and it allowedMaliki to save face ( he didn't know about the raid ) with the other monkey cleric...this would be a difference story if they got the cleric...

good point about calling the shots.

here's the latest on that area and situation

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,225357,00.html

The gunmen fighting police in the city of Baqouba, 35 miles northeast of the capital, were believed to be members of the Mahdi Army militia, loyal to hard-line anti-American cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, said Ghassan al-Bawi, police chief of surrounding Diyala province. The dead included 12 police officers and 18 militants, he said.
