I realize W is not as progun as we would like. Just curious if you think Kerry, or Gore, or say Hillary, or Bill Clinton would have signed these into law?

Hey ifferd which one of your democratic liberal groups would have made sure this bill was signed? I mean since you say the NRA is so antigun.

Its only speculation but I'd guess that all three of those mention wouldn't have signed that bill. OR, they would have required a number of provisions that would water it down.

I'm sure you'll hear from Iff and vc when they log in this morning.

So mch for the fable about President Bush being anti-gun and anti-hunter. The question was asked on another thread recently, along the lines of "what has Bush done for gun owners?". Answer is in the last article--" I would like to thank President Bush for signing the most significant piece of pro-gun legislation in twenty years into law."

I have no doubts there will be a shortage of things for the bashers to lob--reckon how many of those "bombs" are just fables also?

You know, when he signed the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, that was important to me.But the liberals on here won't touch it. Too scared.

Yep, given all that, Kerry would have signed this, as would a Libertarian or any other mainstream candidate for prez.

That's "softball" legislation - the vats majority of Americans, even the anti-gunners who supported Brady and AWB like Bush and Kerrycouldn't have oppoed this bill.
Here is how the congressional vote broke down.
