This is stupid. How can we expect law enforcement officers to protect us from criminals if we do not allow them to pursue criminals, and make instinctive decisions based on years of experience that most prosecuters do not have??

If its a punishable offense why the hell are these guys looking at 20 years instead of a 5 day suspension.If there were 7 other agents and 2 supervisors involved why are these two getting hung out to dry?

Kinda makes you wonder whats actually going on with Mexico and the US.First they hauled Dog the bounty hunter back in for taking a serial rapist out of the country, using our own Marshalls to do it and now the DHS is tracking down drug dealers in Mexico not to arrest them but totestify against out own border patrol agents.Suppose if he wins his lawsuit the dope head can afford to give up drug running and move here legally[:'(]

I forgot to answer your question. I would expect the attorneys for both agents to appeal the decision and hope they prevail. From what I've read, this case was a bogus one.

As far as DHS and correcting the BP non-pursuit policy, that could be much harder to change. Both of those departments are nominally run by political appointees who may or may not understand a whole lot about what those agencies do and how best to do it. It's common sense that they need to change the policies (we all know that) but it will be interesting to see if they chose to do so.

Yea, ive been following this and it makes me sick. I love where they state, "violated his civil rights". What civil rights doesan illegalhave in America???? [:'(] On another note, its kinda funny how they hid the shell cases as well as not reporting that they discharged their fire arms. Which, in its self, is very unusual.


I have been reading that their are lawyers already lining up to take this case to civil court to sue the state of Texas.

Whats funny about this, a hispanic Texas man was out hog hunting one night and shot and killed an illegal hidding in a bush. The man thoughtthe illegalwas a hog. The Texas man was never convicted of any crime. so I guess hog hunters have more rights than our boarder patrol.
