Taliban leader warns of carnage

In the statement, Omar denounced Pakistan for supporting "American propaganda against us"; said Afghanistan's "puppet" government under President Hamid Karzai will have to face an Islamic court of justice; and urged NATO forces -- who are commmanding most of the foreign troops -- to "leave Afghanistan at the earliest."

They are probably emboldened by the polls in the US & believe the democrats will regain power, so they can regain their tyrrany also. Cut & run from Iraq would quickly be followed by cut & run from Afghanistan...

Many believe that Pakistan is the real problem. But Sheraz is a key US ally even, though he himself is a dictator.
