Can Opra pull it off?
I've often thought that the folks in the entertainment biz speaking their minds to the masses on political matters are much like a knat on a hot sweaty summer day - they have no purpose for your immediate life but never seem to go away.
Opra and her empire have cropped up in recent news again prodding the media to ask if she was capable of influencing who our next president will be. This to me is a bit over the top. Fox, CNN, CNN Headline News, MSNBC, heck, even Bloomberg have heavied up their daily doses of celeb gossip to their broadcasts - for what purpose? It isn't really news, is it? Or do you think it really has a purpose? As mindless as people are these days, what better way to control a vote than to have celebs spew forth free advertising for their political pals?
Nothing really surprises me any more.... but things like this still have the ability to leave me in disgust. [:'(]
