Default Bindi Irwin gets own wildlife show

NEW YORK (AP) -- Like father, like daughter.

http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/10/17/irwin.bindi.ap/index.html

Bindi Irwin, the 8-year-old daughter of the late "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin, will star in a wildlife series to air on the Discovery Kids network early next year. The show's working title: "Bindi, The Jungle Girl."

The show, now in the early stages of production, was originally "going to be a father-daughter thing," starring the nature-loving duo, Discovery publicist Annie Howell told the Associated Press on Monday. "Steve and Bindi were very enthusiastic about doing the show together."

Irwin will appear with Bindi in scenes filmed before his death, his manager, John Stainton, said in an interview on People magazine's Web site.

"Some people think that I would be afraid of them, but I'm never ever afraid of an animal," Bindi said in an interview Monday on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's "Australian Story."

"I just get excited and some that are dangerous I just think, 'Oooh! What's going to happen?' and things like that."

This will probably be cathartic for Bindi and a good way for the family to finally say goodbye.

she learned well from her Daddy ..... good girl Bindi ! Chase your dreams, live the way your father lived and in your young life you'll have lived more, learned more, felt more and experienced more than people 40 years old on this forum telling you how selfish and stupid and self centered you are !

I'll record every show for my kids

She will end up the same fate as her father before she is 20...Not to be afraid of dangerous animals is not very smart... I just hope they don't let her mess around with even partially poison animals like scorpions..Other kids watch her do this and could be fatal for the younger viewers...

The chances are much higher that kids will die in car wrecks and suicides before Bindi gets killed by a wild animal, and what she'll be doing is respectable compared to kids in most homes getting fat, playing Xbox, humping like rabbits at 13 and doing lines by 14.

I'll take my chances on my kids following Bindi's examples in life, thank you very much

Not that I want to get involved with this up coming peeing contest, but I truly dought that her show will have her tormenting animals. It will probably be more of an informative show, with her handleing only the tame pretty animals. I say this simply because of two facts; She saw what happened to her father, and that the CPS would be all over her Mom, the producer, and the crew if she was put in harms way. Think of what happened to her dad for dangleing a baby in front of a croc.. CPS was on him like stink on poop. I bet CPS has got them allon the radar.
