In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense

Only if you are a criminal or terrorist. I have personally not noticed or suffered any ill effects from it. I feel however that it has already foiled a lot of terrorist plots.

The Patriot act allows the police to come into your house with out your knowledge.

The PA allows the goverment to hold you without a indictment or a grand jury.

They can hold you as long as they want you don't get a lawyer and they don't have to tell anyone they have you.

Name one natural American citizen whose rights, under these amendments, have been infringed upon in the light that you put it. The one thing I do know is that the 'watchdogs' (oversight) is doing what it is supposed to do. It's the small incremental steps that we have to worry about like the PA, but of course, we've been down this road of discussion beforeand many simply don't want to listen. Whether any of us personally have had any experience with the ramifications of these encroaching restrictions on liberty is IRRELEVANT. What is relevant is what the government (either now or, more likely, in the future) has the capacity to do to anyone it chooses. DUH.
