Default war signals

As reports circulate of a sharp debate within the White House over possible US military action against Iran and its nuclear enrichment facilities, The Nation has learned that the Bush Administration and the Pentagon have moved up the deployment of a major "strike group" of ships, including the nuclear aircraft carrier Eisenhower as well as a cruiser, destroyer, frigate, submarine escort and supply ship, to head for the Persian Gulf, just off Iran's western coast. This information follows a report in the current issue of Time magazine, both online and in print, that a group of ships capable of mining harbors has received orders to be ready to sail for the Persian Gulf by October 1.
As Time writes in its cover story, "What Would War Look Like?," evidence of the forward deployment of minesweepers and word that the chief of naval operations had asked for a reworking of old plans for mining Iranian harbors "suggest that a much discussed--but until now largely theoretical--prospect has become real: that the U.S. may be preparing for war with Iran."

There(iran) going to have a hard time having any ships floating at allor not sitting on the bottom of that channel if the Schitsa goes down/hits the fan.
Nothing wrong at all in making plans& being pre paired.

Mention a larger war or nukes etc& many start thinking end of the world, end times, doomsday etc Gez

Smokeman a question if you dont mind- where you once Johnnyb good on this here forum?

Remember way back Ronny sending a few missles to momar( sponser of highjackings/terriots acts)kaddffi leader of lybia,s home/palace ?
(X50,000?)
Still A lot of real good already payed for taxpayer equipment etc around waiting to be used- if need be.

So then theseareSmoke signals of war( a war already going on& in play?)

I liked when Ronney told that joke? tooAbout the bombing will start in 5 min

We can't let Iran get nukes, because if they do, it'll only be a matter of time before a terrorist group gets their hands on them.

Funny how all the apologists for Iran seem to overlook this real possibility. The outcome would be devastating of course as Israel would return the favor and the entire middle east would be plunged into a theater-wide war amongst many nations. A lot of people also seem to ignore the fact that iran has obviously chosen this opportune time to press this issue when so many of the anti-war americans are pressing their case against war and most of the European idiots are diligently undermining the U.S. (as usual). Of course, if Iran does nuke Israel, these same people will find some BS argument to say that it's the U.S.'s fault.[:'(]

Exactly. And that isn't the only threat. Iran provides weapons to Hezbollah. It only makes sense that once they've developed the capacity to develop a nuclear weapon, they'll pass that along as well. Then it's just a matter of a little planning for Hezbollah to get a suitcase nuke into America (especially with our borders as weak as they are [there, smokeman, I provided another window for you to bash the Bush administration ]).

If the debate is over whether Iran is actively developing nuclear capabilities, then that's a whole 'nuther debate and, by all means, let's debate it. But if this is about whether we should allow a country that openly supports terrorists, harbors terrorists and provides weaponry to terrorists to develop a nuclear capability, it's a no brainer. At least to most clear-thinking Americans. Apparently there are a few who have their heads in the sand.

Making a bomb , which is a lot harder than it sounds , is worlds away from using one . Israel already has them , whether they admit it or not , and Iran knows it . Iran doesn't currently have them as far as anyone knows , and no effective way to get one near Israel , and Israel knows that . Israel would nuke Tehran in a New York minute , and Tehran knows it . I'm not losing sleep over it . Actually , Iran could much more easily use their oil wealth to simply buy bootleg Russian nukes that are supposedly already on the black market , so why should they bother going through the risk and horrendous expense of making one ? If terrorists want nukes there are ways to get them much cheaper and easier than starting up nuclear program .
