Willie was here in VT barnstorming for Independent Congressional Candidate Bernie Sanders. Bernie ran on the democratic primary ballot and easily won then denounced the Dem nod and will run as a true Independent candidate in November. There will be no Democratic Party candidate running for the lone vacant Congressional seat. Sanders, rumored to be a socialist, anda long time Burlington mayor has heldthe Legislative House seat in Washington for numerous terms.He didn't run for re-election and wanted to step up to the vacant Congressional seat vacated by Jim Jeffords.

That sounds pretty smart, eliminating one of your potential opponents like that.

As for Willie---11 pounds?!?!?!?---got a misdemeanor?!?!?!?

I like Willie and I'm glad that's all he got but that is hard to believe. Is LA always that easy on drug offenders???

I don't know LA drug laws but that seems like Willie was given a partial break instead of being arrested for a felony. Just the transportation of the marijuana alone would be a felony in most states, not to mention possession of shrooms which is another felony in most states.

Wonderful justice in the U.S. If i got stopped with even an ounce of Mexican laughing grass and some 'shrooms, I would still be in jail and my rear end would still be sore from the body cavity search conducted by a grumpy 200 pound lesbian with a badge. Oh well.....
