Default Restaruants ban kids

Awhile back there was some discussion about how valuable families with kids were to the restaruant industry.Apparently thier not as profitable as smokers in some states where new anti smoking laws are in place.

Quote:
The Fordhams found a way around the smoking ban by exploiting a loophole that was created to exempt bars from the law. Instead of banning cigarettes, the couple banned children from their restaurant

Apparently theres mor of them going this route.

Ban Canned Hunting. If you don't speak up against it you are part of the problem.

Have you ever heard of private property rights.

If the guy that owns the place wants to serve sh!t sandwiches it should be up to him.And if you don't like sh!t sandwiches then you should feel free to go where you want.

I would much rather have a quite meal with a smoker than baby sit someones brats because they are to cheap to get a sitter or to teach the crumsnachers how tosit and behave!

Kids might be valuable to the restaurant industry but anyone under 21 can be excluded from a bar. Why not places that cater to smokers? It is just a good business practice to find a niche (smokers) in a market. I'm not a smoker, so places like the one referenced in the articlewon't get my business.

I kind of agree with BwanaJim...I resent listening to misbehaving kids or their frustrated parents when I attempt to spend some hard-earned dough for a quiet meal in a nice place. Either get the kids in line, hire a sitter, or wait till they're old enough to take out to a public place to 'dine'.

Likewise, unless these tree-hugging candy-a$$ environmentalists can get Tobacco declared a controlled substance, we should not single out smokers for harassment.

I support smokers rights. Personally I don't smoke, but if they want to smoke, let em. Resturants should have enough ventillation to maintain a smoking and non-smoking section so everyone could be happy.
Name one of your vises that you enjoy, now imagine someone trying to take it away from you.

Amen to that. Anything I hate is to sit near some squallin' kid with a parent that is unable to handle them--keep them somewhere else until the ready to behave halfway decent--subjective test. I can only handle smoke to a degree and only at times as well.

The issue though in both cases (smokers or kids) is the property owners rights. If you don't like smoking and there is smoking--don't freakin go there---I'm talking private businesses now-not public buildings--let the "free market" determine whether there is a place for smokers (or non-smokers)or not---I don't smoke btw.

Absolutely. Just not around where I'm breathing
Maybe you shouldn't walk-in and breathe where they're smoking. If you happen to do it accidentally, you can always hold your breath, turn around, walk out, and spend your money somewhere else
