This is an article by Newt Gingrich - I know for some that will close down whatever part of the mind is open; however, for those who can think let's look @ what he proposes as a platform for the republicans to adopt & debate the points.

House Republicans have two months to change history. They can go one of two ways.

They can continue to ignore the lessons of history, and forget the fact that real change must begin with the American people, not the media or Washington elite.

Or House Republicans can learn from history. They can listen to the American people and return to the center-right populist majority which President Reagan and the Contract with America gave them. The choice is theirs -- and ours.

I don't care for Newt but can buy into all of the above. It all sounds good but what's the catch.

Ditto. The guyhad a hugetarget on his back because of his position as Speaker. But, he seems to be one of the few on the right who is as eloquent an orator as was Mr. Clinton. He's an outstanding public speaker and definitiely better able to articulate positions than anyone in the current administration seems to be.
