Iran seeking to become Mideast superpower

Iran wants to be the Middle East's superpower, to balance the influence of the United States. And Tehran is eager to solidify its influence. Iran is offering extensive financial support to rebuild Lebanon, across-the-board support for Iraq's government, and Ahmadinejad is emerging as the defining voice for disenfranchised Muslims.
Many Americans don't know enough about this rising power. I didn't until I got here....story inside...

Iran could become a major player in the Middle East if its government would stop the rhetoric and fall in line with the rest of the civilized world.

If they would have allowed Russia or who ever provide them with fuel for their reactors then the rest of the world would have no worry of them producing nukes. Thier refusal to do so basically is an admission that they are moving towards making nukes and stupidly they think they are fooling the rest of the world.

The Iranis I have known over the years are great people, of course they are also the ones that came to the US to get away from their fruit cake government.

In an ideal world, Iran wouldn't even be a player in the Middle East. Rather they would now be forced to import oil instead of exporting it and using the money to fund terrorism.

Lest we all forget , the Iranians were once the superpower of the Middle East , they were called the Persian Empire back then . For 2,000+ years they were the economic and military superpower of that region , it took the Macedonians under Alexander the Great to bring them down a peg . They then allowed themselves to dwindle to the point they're at now by regressing into Islam which retarded their forward progress , and by constantly wasting resources bickering with their neighbors like they did for 8 years with Iraq . The Saudis would never have become the economic superpower of the ME without our help , before we found oil there they were little more than a disorganized bunch of wandering Bedouins living in tents and herding goats .

I think, Iran is in panic mode because of what is taking place in Iraq and Afghanistan...they fearstrongWestern style gubberments oneither side of theirborders with tight ties to the US...And what is Russia doing? You guessed it...
