Sorry folks that I did not have time to put this back up last night, my apologies. The entire post was moved to the mods forum due to an issue that needed addressed. Everything from the original post, including all replys except for one trouble makers posts is reposted below in order and w/o editing.Excellent thread! Just got home from work and my apologies for the delay and if anyone got ticked off. Got to it just as soon as I could. Had to do it this way no mod can move threads from the mods forum. Thank you for your understanding!!

Anyone that would do that has some psychological issues and probably a really small amount of "manhood"

Boysda- I have a better idea. Why don't we take some wire cutters AND a trailer!!!!!!

We could release that bad boy on my FREE RANGE ranch so he could spread those heavenly genes around a little bit. You could come hunt any time you want!!

Just let me know- I've already got the pickup hooked up to the trailer!

HILARIOUS!!!

Boysda- I'm actually not a Republican, but I guess we can stop by the rally. I can hold my "ANTI-RALLY" sign, and you can hold your "Rally" sign if you wish.

With a deer that big heading to my ranch, we can almost do anything you want!

Watch it you perverts!!!! I said ALMOST!

Depressing to me big time. I just can't understand how anyone could do that and call it hunting. It bastardizes the sport that I love.

I don't define this as hunting, but if somebody else wants to shoot a deer in a pen and call it hunting, it's not my call to make. The property is not mine, the deer is not mine, and I'm not the one fronting the cash or doing the shooting.

I would classify this deer as livestock instead of wildlife.

Petasux,

I checked out the link and it makes me want to puke......

Quote:
This Auction is for a GUARANTEED HUNT for this Huge 240" B&C scoring Whitetail Deer Buck. He has a great unique looking rack with an impressive drop tine. This is one buck that is hard to top when talking about a tremendous trophy for your wall or for a full mount.

THIS AUCTION IS FULLY CONFIDENTIAL. ALL THE BIDDERS AND WINNING BIDDER ID'S WILL NOT BE LISTED AND WILL BE KEPT STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL.

This hunt will take place in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. Your trophy hunt will be done on our preserve which consists of a mixture of fields and woods with a nice ridge where we have 2 man tree stands set up for your use and also get some great video footage from. This will not be an easy hunt and we don't reccommend using the bow unless you are a superior archer, but bring your gun for back up. WTF is up that crap???..

Don't forget that this is a once in a lifetime guaranteed hunt for this exact Monster Buck shown with a score of 240" and a beautiful drop tine rack. It is not for a chance that something like this is in the preserve this is the exact buck that the winning bidder will get to take!

That is part of their spiel and I not only find it disturbing but feel they just may as well raise the deer for "meat" and not hunting. Would/could any of these deer be able to survive if put back in tthe wild???? I think NOT!! []

IMHO, This is certainly not hunting and I would personally be ashamed to participate in anything of the kind or have the mount on my wall! To each his own.....[:@]

Why don't they just kill the bambi, have it mounted and then sell the mount? Save some slob a lot of trouble wheezing his/her way into that pasture.

the opening bid is requested at 20K....unbelievable that this is even advertised on E-Bay as such...Deer Farming is nothing new but this is just unethical. At first I thought they were selling the buck for breeding purposes but then I realized it was about a Hunt for a specific pre-selected animal.[][:'(]

Anyone in PA know of this ranch?

To Christine and Couger...thanks. You both just slid way up the scale in my mind. Good sportsmanship is a combination of legality, high morals and ethics. All sportspersons should be appalled at activities which promote questionable activities under the name of hunting. The deer in question is not a free range animal, has been domesticated as all barn yard animals are and the harvest in no way can be called hunting. What is next...killing a cow for mounting on the wall? Boy that cow was difficult to kill. I had to place the shot right between the slats of the fence. The fence and short distance really made the scope blurry. My hands were shaking but I took the shot and it dropped on the spot. Loading the carcass on the bucket loader was difficult but we did it......right. [:@]
