Perhaps the UN chief doesn't really want to see Hezbollah disarmed? Why, if Hezbollah were disarmed they would have precious little with which to attack Israel. If they don't attack Israel, Israel would not respond & there would be peace between Israel & Lebanon. If there is nothing for Israel to which Israel can respond, Kofi & crew would not be able to get their media time with the world's mainstream media denoucning Israel.

here's my take....they won't lay down their weapons because Hezbollah is more than militants...it's also aphilosphy and it's in the minds of the people not only in Southern Lebanon butHezbollah's birthplace isthe Bekaa Valley and there are militant areas pretty much all along the border with Syria.
Iran is using the Syrians to further Iranian persuits for regional domination.
The Syrians are so stupid and cluelessthey believe Iran is helping them rid the coast of Israel so the Syrians can reclaim ancient lands. The Syrians are nothing but liars and theives in the purest sense and as such are highly predictable and can be manipulated. Iran is doing so and then Iran will claim Syria once they are finished with Israel and Lebanon. Jordan and Egypt will be next then Turkey. Iran is hoping to divert US attention away from Afghanistan and Iraq.
The fundamentalist clerics everywhere should be targeted.
