VC it just goes to show you that bigots are not the brightest folks in the world. An intelligent bigot (I doubt there is one) would know better then to do something like that, especially on a public school bus!

Taz, I don't think that bias or bigotry has anything to do with intelligence. I think that anyone can harbor either or both and most people do.
The key is to be able to think beyond your own innate limits and try to determine whether or not your experiences and biases are applicable on a situation by situation basis.
It does sound like the school bus driver is an idiot with the facts presented in the news story. Apparently both fo the affected parents had previously complained about the school bus before which had apparently prompted the school bus driver to assign seats on the bus. This doesn't excuse her poor judgement but does suggest that there is a little more to the story.

VC an inability to think beyond ones own inate limits, which bigotry is (at least to me) is an indication of a weak thought process, aka dumb!
Bias is a different ball of wax which can intermingle with bigotry.
