BEIRUT, Lebanon - Hezbollah fighters battled Israeli commandos who landed near the militants' stronghold deep inside Lebanon early Saturday, killing one soldier, in the first apparent large-scale violation of the U.N.-brokered cease-fire between the sides.
hahahahaha!!!!! No need to fear...the French are here!!! haha. Hey I was at an army-surplus store the otherday, the guy offfered me 10,000 French rifles, never used, only dropped once. . I hate the United Nations, and I wish we wern't in it. They should let Isreal kick some butt and let it be over it, instead of the darn UN hippies gettin into everything, they have some issues and I dont agree with them. They have Cuba and China in head of the "human rights department" of the UN for God's sake!!

Ban Canned Hunting. If you don't speak up against it you are part of the problem.
The first small contingent of reinforcements for the peacekeeping force "” 49 French soldiers "” landed Saturday at the southern Lebanese coastal town of Naqoura, with 200 more expected next week.
Now that ought to scare the camel dung out of the bad guys ,49 of their best. That must of been how many could find their rifles.
200 more next week they must be waiting for them to sober up.
What the AP "forgot" to report is that the Hezbollah terrorists were receiving new arms & munitions, which violated the cease-fire. Wonder how that little tidbit was forgotten???
This whole new arrangement is insulting to one's intelligence. Peacekeepers generally end up sitting at checkpoints with their rifles unloaded and slung over their shoulders while the people they are supposed to be protecting get slaughtered. And the Lebanese army will just sit there smoking cigarettes while the hezbollah fighters roll by on their way to launch another attack. Total friggin idiocy.

RE: Here they go again ?
I have concerns about the skirmish escalating and involving more than just Israel and Hesbollah. One by one different countries will send in peacekeeper troops under the UN flag. I feel it will be only a matter of time before they are caught in the crossfire that will surely develop. Hesbollah will certainly use this cease fire period to re-arm. Hesbollah doesn't only hate the Israeli people, they hate all people from any democracy who stands there to help. They have been dolling out money to the people of Lebanon for damage reparations so they will certainly have the mainstream Lebanese people on their side. What is next..a coup to overthrow the Lebanon government?

I hope the U.S. does NOT waste our troops on this idiotic arrangement. Hezbollah has no intentions of living up to this ceasefire and will violate it any chance they get.

Cal, I agree, it would be a wasted effort for the US to go in there just yet...once the Syrians and Iranians get involved then we lower the boom on em...
