Sorry Jim I was on the beach throwing sticks for fannymae (Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog) to fetch. She wore me out man. I actually had to switch to tipping the Labatts with my left arm. Blue sky with big white puffy clouds and a nice on shore breeze. It doesn't get much better than that. Followed by grilled Tuna, fresh dug red potatoes and a fresh tomato basil mozzarella salad with white wine. Ahhhhhhh. To your post....Like lemmings over the cliff. I understand what you are trying to get at. I raised 3 kids, all girls and always told them to be leaders not followers. I had hoped by doing that theywould take the lead in all issues.Some times it works and other times not. Trying is the important part though. I also understand you can't treat world hunger with a sandwich. It is too big for one person or a small group to change. Nope, and the last time they did (Perot), they weren't close to being elected. The imminent depression is very real, yet the sad fact is that the American people won't elect the person with the solutions, because it means tough policy and sacrifice. Yes, the congress & president have been spending wildly on things not related to national security. That needs to change.
I find it "funny" that this article quotes congressman Jim Cooper, who is my congressional representative. He is no "fiscal conservative" &, with this his second go-round in congress, has gotten even more liberal in all facets of what he does.
