Default Bottles test positive for explosives

CEREDO, West Virginia (AP) -- A West Virginia airport terminal was evacuated Thursday after two bottles of liquid found in a woman's carry-on luggage twice tested positive for explosives, a Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman said.[/b]

http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/08/17/airport.evac.ap/index.html

Airport manager Larry Salyers said the bottles would be moved by robot to a remote area of the airport where officials would attempt to detonate them. National Guard and State Police explosive experts will conduct chemical field tests to determine what's inside them, he said.
Salyers said he was told the woman was a 28-year-old native of Pakistan who had moved to Huntington from Jackson, Michigan. He did not know how long she had lived in Huntington.

Holy crap, man, dang ole homegrown Al Qaeda man...[&:]

All these little incidents could be probes to test the security net.??

A decent bottle of booze would probably ignite if given the right spark. better stick to beer. I never saw one of those burn yet

Scoff if you like gents , but these days when somone who happens to be young and of Middle Eastern descent gets flagged for anything that tests positive for explosive violence I'm inclined to want the authorities to take a second look . Our enemies are not above using women , children , or anyone else for their nefariousends , this definitely bears at least passing scrutiny . The crap tested positive twice , and while it's still possible that the tests may have been in error who wants to get on a plane with her knowing that it failed even once ? Use a bit of common ...

Good post kevin. The islamic terrorists would be happy to use a child or a woman as a weapon. They have done so & are doing so now. I'm sure they are probing the security procedures & have been doing so all along. Ignoring the terrorist threat is as or more dangerous than over-blowing it.

I'm acrually more intrigued by the fact that they moved the suspected explosives by means of a freaking robot...

i suppose the robot was just protocol in these type situations.I find it more more suprising that the intial tests plus a K-9 unit all got positive results to start with.Wonder with the newest ban on liquid items on airlines how long it will be before we see this scenario played out again. One thing the terrorists have accomplished is airline travel in this country will never be the same again.

I wonder if it was the combination of the two or four that was setting the detection system off...??
