The reason towns and states are passing laws like this is because the American people are tired of illegal immigrants and since the feds are not doing that much they take it into their own hands. This is a whole lot better then vigalantes doing something.

I remember very recent massive demonstrations by illegal entrants & their supporters wanting the US to make the illegal legal. These numerous massive demonstrations also included "reconquista" chants & a lot of other stuff that would be considered rationally against the US.
The illegal entrants are not just coming here to help the farmers - they are taking jobs throughout the economy. They are also using many public assistance programs & other welfare taxpayer provided programs. Many of these illegal entrants are also criminals who steal & murder our citizens, or kill them in traffic accidents.
In TN & around the country it's not the arabs or persians who are lining up @ our assistance offices & other government services locations. How much foreign aid have we recently sent to Syria or Iran?
I'm sure many of the illegals do like the US, & especially love the $$ & services they are getting. The fact is they have entered this country illegally & shouldn't be here in the first place! We have a path to entry & citizenship; these illegals have chosen to circumvent this legal path for an illegal path. They should go back from whence they came & come in legally, & those who knowingly hire illegals should be punished.
I agree that the US should constantly monitor foreign aid & make sure it's going to those who don't want to kill us; however your post is flawed by incorrect assertions.

Only speaking on the situation in Hazleton, PA.....
I live close to there. Enough to know people who live there.
The population went from an official 23k+ in 2000, which was a decline of 6% from 1990, to an estimated 32k in 2006, with 95+% of that being latino.That is not countingall illegals even if the estimate does factorthem in. Estimtates allow as much as +/-2k for them.
There aren't enough farms in the entire country for that many people. The mines are not running like that since the late 50s, nor are there many factories in the area let alone Hazleton.
(you have to realize that it is 25 miles from the real population center of the area. Mainly it is just lucky to be next to a major interstate and only a few miles from where another interstate crosses)
The real disadvantage is that "we" are only 2 hours drive from Philly and 2-2 1/2 hours from NYC and there is a lot of people moving to the area from those cities, many of which still work in them and commute to there from here. But communities like Hazleton are not affluent enough to get most of the people with money, but they do get a higher percentage lower or "no income" groups who get the advantages of lower cost of living, better benefits, "liberal" assistance and unemployemt benefits, with what has for some time been lessened police presence if for no other reason than a traditionally low crime rate. Which has unfortunatley changed over the last several years. My area went from 1 murder/homicide every 1 to 2 years to I belive it's6 so far this year. Many (OK, basically all) of thesuspects/arrested of which have previous NYC or Philly addresses and more and more drug and/or gang affiliations. Latino Kings, Crips, Bloods, etc
