They have the stones to get past the issue of racial profiling because the last two major attempts have been on their soil. I have said it before...If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck ..it must be a duck. Go to an airline terminal and wear your turban and wonder why you get picked for a search. Focus on the Arab area of a large city to uncover possible terrorists...I would if I was in charge.

I hate to say this, but it makes a lot more sense then strip searching old women.
The fact that we aren't doing some major league profiling is absolutely ridiculous. 95% of terrorist operatives out there have the same things in common. Relatively young (under 35), Islamic, from the Middle East, with Middle Eastern names. Why do we pretend anything other than that? Look at the 9-11 terrorists or the bunch that blew up the train in Spain, or the buses in London or the ones they just nabbed last week.
Smart move by the Brits. I don't understand why we're making little kids and old women in wheelchairs go through the searches.
I must admit, though, that what cracks me up is the Democrats who scream foul when we round up Egyptians who have "gone missing" within our borders because we're "profiling," then turn around and cry about homeland security incompetence because we're making 85-year-old women in wheelchairs and eight-year-old caucasian girls go through the searches at airports.

terrorists like these Islamic Jihadists will use the wheelchairs used by little old ladies ( explosives in the seat pad ) or little 8 yr old's teddy bears...they will use anything...they are after our freedoms...
we need to take the fight to these kind of people...the dust isn't settled over there...Syria needs to go down, Iran needs to go down...descent in Iraq needs to stop...these middle eastern zealotts only know the concept of "might is right" they do not understand democracy and anything other than a sword....

I agree Ben. Times are too dangerous to be stuck with all this partisanship. Time to be strong and not divided. It won't matter whether you are GOP or Dem if things escalate and we are drawn into a worldwide conflict. Homeland security should be one of the most important things we as a nation focus on right now and in the future. If people of Middle Eastern origins are here and pose a threat then send them home if they aren't citizens. We won't because of all the bleeding hearts but someday we will wish we had.

I want to make another small point with regard to Middle Eastern non citizens living and getting lost in the shuffle here in the USA. Notice that over time Hesbollah and Hamas have slowly moved in and taken up residence in Lebanon and Palestine respectively. They became part of the ruling party and are entrenched in the local governments. After a month of steady bombardment by Israel they are still there in Southern Lebanon much to the dismay of the Lebanese government. Islamic Fundamentalists from Syria and Iran have infiltrated most of theMiddle Eastcountries that are presently hostile. Their methods of hate are spreading like a cancer wherever they go. Keep them out of our land. Call it profiling or whatever you want but something is wrong with seeing Arabs dancing in the streets after a terrorist attack. Round them up and send them home.

I hear ya, CI, we now know it's the extremist morons that are doing the dancing and not the everyday good Arabs...
I wish I could put it all in words like you guys did (Champlain Islander and Canuk Buck). Best I can do is say these are well stated posts that I buy into 1000%.
