Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Syria's Assad Calls U.S. 'New Middle East' Plan an Illusion

DAMASCUS, Syria "Syrian President Bashar Assad said Tuesday that the U.S. plan for a "new Middle East" has collapsed following Hezbollah's successes in fighting against Israel.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,208380,00.html

Assad said the fighting in Lebanon had been planned by Israel for some time, but the endeavor had failed. "The result was more failure for Israel, its allies and masters," Assad said.

The Syrian leader said U.S. participation was needed for a peace settlement in the Middle East, but added that peace cannot be achieved under the administration of President Bush.

Canuck the sad thing is as long as you are dealing with terrorist and guerillas they will only be defeated by total annihilation, as long as they still exist no matter how many are killed, how much land is held, or how much of thier equipment is destroyed they will simply by surviving win.

Great point! I am in complete agreement, now if we can just find all of them. . . .

They understand only one thing. Pure deadly force. Yep we have to kill them all or they will kill us.

"They understand only one thing, pure deadly force. Yep we have to kill them all or they will kill us".

There is a different way.
(I really don"t want to be part of the killing of a million people, do you? That is most likely a low estimate of people killed, if we do what has been suggested on this thread.)

Believe it or not, Iraq was the better way, had it been done correctly and aimed toward the right goals.

Afghanistan can still be an example, as long as our goals remain close to the Afghanistan goals.

What is the "right goal"? To stop state sponsored terrorism plain and simple.

Our goal should NOT be to wrestle Muslims away from Islamic rule.

Islam is, by its very nature and scripture and teachings, NON-democratic. Islamic Law is NOT compatible with our way of life and the freedoms we enjoy.

GWB and Donald Rumsfeld do not have a clue when it comes to understanding those facts.

You can stop state sponsored terrorism by removing the leadership in the countries that sponsor\support terrorist.

Your goal is not to change their way of life to ours, they do NOT want it.
Your goal is to stop them from hurting us and as a by-product of that process you might stop them from hurting each other.

I will state it here as I have been stating it to the Muslims I have spent the last 3 months arguing with:

IF YOU WANT TO SEE A PEACEFULL ISLAM, THEN ONLY SUPPORT PEACEFULL MUSLIMS.

Stop making the goal to install a democracy and make it to install a peaceful Islamic Government.

The next thing to understand is that your goals must be kept within the scope of reasonableness:

You are NEVER going to kill out every Inman and common Muslim that wants to see you dead.

However you can keep changing out leadership in the country that allows him a public speaking platform until your message gets across, you are not at war with Islam.

You are at war with NON-peaceful (Towards the Western World)Muslims.

If those things had been done over the last 50 years, this current history would have been written differently and Hezbollah would have been shut out and shut down 15 years ago.

The way we are conducting this "War on Terror", it is doomed to failure.

Thanks
Mr-Pirk

Hmmm... Assad is again the disarming of Hezbollah & freedom for the muslim world, nothing really new there.

The pressure is mounting on Iran, that is where it needs to stay & increase as the center of islamic terrorism is Iran.
